Lexington Rescue Mission Celebrating 10 Years of Service

We were recently honored to be a part of the Lexington Rescue Mission annual banquet. This year marks their 10th anniversary in ministry serving the people of Lexington, KY. I was amazed as I sat and heard person after person give personal testimony about how the Mission had changed their lives for the better. In many cases people were at rock bottom and nobody seemed to care except for Lexington Rescue Mission. Their touching stories were humbling and convicting. LRM is truly a great organization showing the love of Christ to those often overlooked.

Central Kentucky’s Christian Radio Celebrates With the Lexington Rescue Mission as the Mission Marks 10 Years of Ministry in Lexington. Lexington, KY, September 15, 2011—the radio stations of Central Kentucky’s Christian Radio: WJMM 99.1 FM, and WCGW 770 AM were honored to partner with the Lexington Rescue Mission as Gold-Level Sponsors for the Mission’s 10th Anniversary Banquet and Silent Auction on Thursday, September 8th, and to have partnered with the Mission and its outreach programs through the years.

The goal of this year’s Banquet and Silent Auction was to celebrate the Mission’s tenth year of ministry to meet the physical needs of the poor in Lexington; honor past and present Mission staff, volunteers and community partners, as well as raise money to go toward the Mission’s various outreach programs. The event drew the attendance of nearly 500 people, and raised over $25,000 to go toward the work of the Mission. About the Lexington Rescue Mission

The Lexington Rescue Mission seeks to meet the basic physical needs of the broken, the vulnerable and the poor, but understands these individual’s needs often go deeper than a warm bed or hot meal. The Mission works to address those needs by teaching life skills, providing housing and employment counseling, and helping individuals overcome alcohol and drug addictions. The Mission also strives to meet the spiritual needs of those individuals.

Christmas in July for Mission of Hope

We are now in the final week of our annual Christmas in July effort to benefit Mission of Hope and the underprivileged children they serve.

I know it's hot outside and your mind is far from Christmas. That may have an effect on your Christmas in July spirit, but there are underprivileged children in the Appalachian region of Kentucky and Tennessee who need your help. We have placed blue barrels around central Kentucky so you can help us make life a little easier on these children. Thanks to your kindness and selflessness this year the Mission of Hope will be able to provide school supplies, clothes, hygiene items, toys, and more to needy children.

Look for donation barrels at:
  • Ron McCauley Nissan, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep in Nicholasville
  • Toyota on Nicholasville
  • Roberts Health Foods in the Eastland Shopping Center
  • Louisville Tile on Palumbo Drive
  • Culvers of Lexington on Meijer Way across from LCA
Thank you for helping extend the hope.
